The foundation aims at furthering the biodiversity and wellbeing of the local population in and around the mangroves in the coastal areas of South-Asia
Our project takes place along the Bay of Bengal, in the Indian state of Odisha. Here, there used to be tropical mangrove forest nearly everywhere. Mostly, we are working with women and their families without farm land
Statutory, the foundation Man and mangroves has been established at Almere, and collaborated with parners in practice, in order to facilitate local initiatives in the mangrove areas of Odisha and elsewhere in India

2016 - Very few people know of the history of the Dutch East-India Company in the Bengal region, which included Odisha (Orissa) and Myanmar (Birma) in those days. What did we do out there? This journey is to provide some answers to that question. The anchorage for the Dutch in this region was called "The Anchorage of Balasore" (Baleshwar), a district town in Odisha where the pilots went on board, and goods and people where shipped, to and from the Ganges. This blog keeps you informed on my exploratory trip.
