Man and mangroves helps, moves, listens to, and supports, local initiatives in the Indian State of Odisha regarding the themes mangroves, women, sustainability, and economy. The core group of the foundation consists of Carl Tenhaeff, Josien Hofs, Gilles Tenhaeff, and Lida Dijkman. Together with enthusiastic friends and volunteers they go for various activities.
Statutory, the foundation Man and mangroves is established at Almere, and collaborates with partners in practice, in order to facilitate local initiatives in the mangrove areas of Odisha and elsewhere in India.
Invariably, the actions we implement depart from a strong need, and local commitment, to realize something. With DHARA, our local partner, we enter dialogue with residents, and find out what is required to realize that need. When that happens, mes, this leads to a new action. In that case, the foundation can make financial means or expertise available. This is not done by simply remitting money, since we expect a plan of action including a budget plan. By the end of the action, the local residents involved should be able to continue the result by themselves. Man and mangroves is merely passing by in day-to-day life over there; we do not want to create financial dependencies.
But you can certainly help us, and contribute directly to the support rendeere by Man and mangroves. Please do get in touch with us, to discuss which action are current, and how you may support us and the local residents of Odisha.
